I feel fairly optimistic about The Gathering Storm, mostly because a) Jordan left massive notes, and b) Sanderson is at his best in endings, and all this will be is a big ending. Also, mostly unrelated, Sanderson is a big nerd. He played Mafia with us at DragonCon last year. This makes me inclined to like him.

I read three billion books a year (ok, not REALLY), so I post my lists and reviews over at GoodReads (http://www.goodreads.com/jodotha )
Currently reading...um...research for "Touched" and I'll have to pick out something for tonight's fiction still...

Presently, I am reading Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson.

Next? Well, there's a lot of books to choose from.

The City and the City was EXCELLENT. I started Perdido Street Station last year, but I got really annoyed by Mieville's habit of, "Look! Shiny big word for no reason! I used dirigible to awkwardly describe a middle-aged man! I even put it in italics so you'd notice, 'cause I'm cool and steampunk and stuff." I did find the story intriguing however, and now that The City and the City has proved to me that Mieville really is an excellent writer who seems to have worked out those freshman kinks, I'm definitely planning on re-visiting his Bas Lag novels.

Since my last post here, I have read.... a lot of books.

I got through all of the Codex Alera by Jim Butcher [Except the most recently released volume, which is the last one] and I've been reading Kelley Armstrong novels. Mm, werewolves, witches, sorcerers, necromancers, demons, half-demons. A little bit of angels. Yeah. And yummy.
